London Fringe Theatre Festival:

Promoting Edgier Theatre

The London Fringe Theatre Festival is an annual summer event featuring dozens of local, national, and international touring performers, hundreds of shows in several downtown locations. In addition to Theatre, the Fringe now offers literary readings, visual art exhibits, and a film program.

For the past four seasons, SC has been the agency chosen to develop unique and irreverent concepts and print materials to publicize the event and attract Londoners.

In 2002, "Caught Fringing" was an edgy concept designed to heighten curiosity and suggest the opportunity to participate in some illicit voyeuristic event. The April fundraising gala was staged at the Middlesex County building, an historic courthouse and jail in downtown London.

In 2003, "Put a little Fringe in your life" threw a garish pink boa around the shoulders of really incongruous characters — postal workers, construction workers, truckers at the gas pump, and even a pit bull terrier.

SC developed both concepts into t-shirts, buttons, newspaper ads, posters and billboards for the Fringe.
